I know you can't please everyone every time
But This Sucks big time
I went to the Second event that had the rollback and lost my hat shards and 3 pressys
SO I made an effort to wake up at some ungodly hour to get it again because
I knew I might not have another chance
NOW your just going to do this and stuff us around and hand them out to anyone that WASN'T there?
Hats to many people are a symbol I WAS THERE for that particular event and year.
I missed some of the other event hats as well why not put them up for everyone like your doing here
You won't as you have said before in other posts on these matters so why start now?
BAD update.

I am as aware of the lag as everyone else here.
I had to attend three finales, as my first one, in LA dist 123, did not have the event - apparently the rumor that dists created after the event starts in dist 1 don't get it is true.
I also had suffered lag and whatnot during the present drop. The rollbacks, I did not experience any, though I feel the pain of the others.
In turn, though, many people are saying the lag alone is a fair point as to why such generosity should be given. Remember that the hats are given before the present monsoon, before the lag...
Also, I feel those who had rolled back deserved to regain their hats just as well.
...though in turn, we permit other people to acquire them, ruining the exclusiveness and sentimental value of them.
Perhaps even a CC shard collector or something would've done...but just giving them for free (well, essentially free, 10g) not only apologizes to those who were part of the event, but makes the whole purpose of the hats questionable.

what the hell Anet, so i stay up to get one hat, then i have to get back online (a multilplier of 3 hours later) and sit around, waiting for grenth and dwayna, listening to idiots every 5 minutes asking ''WHEN 4 THE HATZZZX KKOMING I WNTAT ONE HAI HOW U GET THAT HORNZZZ!11"
i sit through the barrage of presents, (i'm on a horrible connection which boots me loading into missions all the time and even i didn't get booted, i don't know why so many people did)
and then i find out Anet SUDDENLY grew a heart for all the people who err7'ed. well what a change. anet listens to the people who QQ the loudest... BUT the leave the blinding snow that nobody wants, AND they take away the two NPC's that EVERYONE still wants (WTB THE PRESENT GUY AND THE RIFT WARDEN WTF ANET)
so if they get the hats, I'LL QQ LOUDER WHY CAN'T WE GET THE PRESENT GUY AND THE RIFT WARDEN BACK WHAT THE HELL ANET.

Are you people seriously getting this worked up over these hats? It's a game, they're not real. How pathetic can your life be that pixelated hats send you crying all over the forums just because other people are getting them? If you turn in to a whiny little bitch over something this stupid then festival hats are the least of your problems. Grow up kiddies, it's just a game.

How true. The funny thing is they give everyone a chance to get the hats and people are still QQing.

How is this any different from extending the Dragon Festival?
The servers screwed up, some people missed out, and they're trying to make up for it.
You guys throwing tantrums should really go back and read your posts, just to see how pathetic you look.

Anets way of saying we screwed up, heres your hat.
Honestly I don't think there was any provider issues that caused the event lag as much as they had shut servers down due to the lesser amount of people playing as of late.
Alot of people have stopped playing the game and you can tell by the normal amount of districts in LA and Kamadan. Compare last Nov's districts to this years districts.. at least 4 districts down this year.

There's also more content for playerbase to be spread among, so this fact is trivial at best.

I hate when Anet does things like this, even tho the majority gets what they want, i don't, and i don't give a dam about the majority tbh.
If i attend an event to get a hat, i do it because i want that hat to mean something, even if it looks like crap, when anet then gives every other schmuch in gw the opportunity to get it after the exclusive time announced, i just feel like i wasted my time even attending the first time.
But i guess it's good that they do things like this, keeps the majority happy....

Trivial my ass.. Anyone who got EoTN when it came out has long since finished it. The majority of the GW economy has been transacted in LA, and then Kamadan.

First off I am not HIM, I am also not stupid. And I have a valid point. While traders do not make up the majority of the GW community they are a vital part of it. And when districts are down in numbers it is a good indication that few people are playing the game. Fewer people playing = fewer people looking for weapons and other items.
What I am is a player who loved the game, and am being straight out honest about what I see happening.

I have to say this is a very nice gesture on Anets part and I definately applaud them for it. It's always nice to see people wandering around in the hats becuase they bring back such fun memories of festivals past . Though it's not completely unprecedented, they did Reduex() an entire holiday event this past year for those who had the same sorts of problems at that festival.
Though I have to admit, it is a bit disappointing to me. On one hand, you have people, like Gaile for instance, saying that Anet should never, and will never, allow people to have a second chance at getting earlier hats (such as '06 Halloween or Wintersday hats) no matter what the circumstances were of your inability to attend. And then they do this for, I would imagine, a relatively small group of people who weren't able to attend more than one out of nine seperate events and were rolled back on the single event they attended...?
I wouldn't really have an issue with it if they stuck by one principle and stayed with it, but it seems like this issue is sort of hit or miss. Weren't able to attend Halloween '06? Stinks to be you. Weren't able to attend Wintersday '07 becuase the one event out of nine you made time to attend had a server crash? FREE HATS FOR EVERYONE!...
It seems like they should never do this or they should always do this, and pick one stance and stick with it.

Give me a break, a hat is a hat is a hat. In this case a free one. A free hat in an online game. How can you talk about "earning" a free online hat, and moreover, how can you talk about the "unfairness" of receiving one after an event? Big deal! Be happy if you got a second chance to get one if you wanted to get it and couldn't attend the event. If you already had one, grow a pair and move on (or alternative go complain in another thread how crappy this free online hat was and how this community "deserved" so much better). Sorry, I'm working late tonight and I'm a tad cranky. Does it show?
